About this course:

This masterclass weekend contains all the training that practitioners will need for successful use of the protocols of Battlefield Auriculotherapy and Auricular Acupuncture. These protocols brings about rapid pain relief and symptomatic relief of a variety of clinical and medical conditions. 

This course will cover use of both semi permanent auriculo acupuncture needles, and use of electrostimulation devices, such as the Stimplus Pro. As such, this training benefits those with or without acupuncture training. A variety of methods will be taught that suit all kinds of therapists with an interest in pain management and symptomatic reduction.

Clinical knowledge of these conditions is included in the course and will benefit therapists from many backgrounds. 

A knowledge of acupuncture is not essential for this training, although trained acupuncturists will no doubt benefit from this extra skill set.

 

Course Syllabus: 

​Day 1:

• Description, background, and history of auriculotherapy and acupuncture
• Uses and scope of auriculotherapy and acupuncture
• Background of the auriculotherapy/acupuncture protocol
• Limitations and safety (client and practitioner)
• Legal aspects, licencing requirements, etc.
• Explanation of the auricular (ear) points in common usage
• Conditions commonly treated
• Point location and use of adjunct devices (Stimplus Pro, etc.)
• Clinical use of the semi-permanent needles, and/or electrostimulation devices, and acupressure, order of treatment, combinations of needles (pairing/clustering)
• Use of the basic protocol for common aches and pains, including musculoskeletal injuries, arthritis, rheumatism, backache, etc.
• Ear care following insertion of needles, use of stimulation
• Aftercare and follow up, frequency of treatment
• Adjustments/modifications to protocol
• Adjuncts to auricular protocol – piezo pen, point locator, etc
• Combining auriculotherapy and acupuncture with other therapies
• Practical session – using the protocol on model ears
• Clinical practical session – using the protocol on live candidates (volunteers may be brought by the students)
• Intro to advanced use of protocol
• Q&A session, further practice

Day 2:

• Medical/psychological conditions and how auriculotherapy can alleviate symptoms
• Dental pain protocol
• PTSD protocol
• Migraine protocol
• Diabetes protocol
• Asthma protocol
• Post-stroke rehabilitation
• Weight management and appetite control protocol
• Addiction protocol (smoking, drugs, and alcohol)
• Gastrointestinal disorders (IBS, acid reflux, etc.)
• Blood pressure protocols (hypertension and hypotension)
• Tinnitus protocol
• Sinus and allergy protocol
• Fertility protocol
• Genitourinary protocol

Although not entirely necessary, we encourage students to bring along volunteers on day 1 (day 2 by arrangement). These volunteers will need to give consent to treatment from the student bringing them. Treatments will be supervised by the facilitator(s) of the course. As we also have a busy clinic on site, we will also strive to provide volunteers for our students, and whilst not guaranteed, this usually results in several volunteers per student, and is invaluable for practical work.

Certification - 3 certificates will be issued to successful candidates. These certificates are:

• Practitioner Certificate in Battlefield Auriculotherapy
• Practitioner Certificate in Auricular Acupuncture (Microsystem Acupuncture)
• Practitioner Certificate in Auricular Acupressure

This enables those who are not acupuncturists, and acupuncturists who wish to practice the other modalities included in the course to obtain relevant insurance. This course is recognised as insurable with the Federation of Holistic Therapists, and other leading insurers.
