A one day certified pain management course for therapists working with pain management

This course is designed primarily for hypnotherapists and psychotherapists who wish to enhance their skills in using psychological techniques to reduce pain in their clients.

Pain management is a niche area in the psychological therapies, and specialist education and understanding of the key topics is critical, both practically and ethically, and this course provides a strong framework for these elements.

• Understanding pain and why/how it has evolved 
• The necessity for pain
• Neurophysiology and neuropsychology of pain
• Adaptation to pain
• The biopsychosocial (BPS) model of pain
• Therapeutic approaches to managing/reducing pain
• Ethical considerations in pain management
• Various psychological approaches to pain management
• Understanding other professional approaches to pain, pharmacological, surgical, etc.
• Confidence building through practice
